This mill barn, once associated with the 1682 oil mill ‘De Bezem’ (‘The Broom’), originally stood on Noorddijk in Wormerveer. Together with ‘De Kraai’ (‘The Crow’), ‘De Bezem’ (Kraaienest 1-2-3) was also relocated to the Zaanse Schans and restored. The mill was taken over by ‘Wessanen en Laan’ in 1843 and operated until 1896. After the mill was dismantled, the barn remained in use as a seed and oil warehouse. You can now step right into the charming atmosphere of this authentic mill barn when visiting the ‘Windmill Shop’. The shop is home to a wide variety of souvenirs that will remind you of the wonderful memories of your visit to the Zaanse Schans. Feel free to browse around and be inspired…
